1 cup butter 1 1/4 cup sugar 1 egg 2 tsp vanilla 1 tsp baking soda 1/4 tsp salt 2 1/3 cups flour
Cream butter, sugar and eggs together. Add remaining ingredients. Chill dough for 2 hours. Roll out on lightly floured surface and cut into shapes with holiday cookie cutters. Place on a greased baking sheet and bake in a 375º oven for 8 minutes. Makes 6 dozen. Frost with a butter cream frosting.
