1/2 Cup Shortening
1 1/2 Cup Sugar
2 1/2 Cup Flour
3 tsp. Baking Powder
4 egg whites beaten stiff
1 1/2 cup milk
Vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Beat Shortening & Sugar. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt and add to sugar/shortening mixture. Add milk and Vanilla. Beat egg whites until stiff. Fold into mixture. Split batter into thirds. to 3 tsp Cocoa add enough hot water to make liquid. Add this to 1/3 of cake mixture. Add red Food coloring to 1/3 of Cake mixture. Leave 1/3 batter white. Place colors of batter as desired in round cake pans. Bake 375 degrees for 25-30 minutes...longer if you use oblong glass pan.. Ice with Chocolate Icing.
