2 lbs. navy beans
2 med. onions
2 pinches baking soda
4 Tbsp. brown sugar
2/3 cup molasses
4 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. dry mustard
1 lb. salt pork

Directions:
Directions:
Wash beans thoroughly. Soak overnight in water 2" above beans. In same water add baking soda. Bring just to a boil. Drain well with hot water. Saute onions in bacon grease. Mix together brown sugar, molasses, sugar, and mustard. Add onions and mix with beans. Cover with hot water just to top of beans(bottom of top beans). Cut salt pork in strips and lay over beans. Brown salt pork in 375 oven uncovered for 1/2 hours. Turn salt pork and brown another 1/2 hour. Mix salt pork into beans and add water 1/2" above beans. Add more water as they bake if needed. Cover and bake at 300 for 5 hours.
