1 1/4 c water
1 Cup brown sugar (packed in a cup)
1/3 cup shortening
2 tsp cinnamon
2 cups raisins
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Add 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp soda, dissolved in 2 tsp water. Blend in 2 cups sifted flour and 1 tsp. Baking powder. Bake 50-60 minutes at 325 in greased and floured pan. Cool in pan.
