1/2 stick margarine
1/4 tsp. to 1 Tbsp. ground cayenne pepper
1 tsp.black pepper
1 Tbsp.salt
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 pt. white vinegar
juice from 3 lemons (or bottled lemon juice)
1 medium bottle ketchup

Directions:

Mix the ingredients in a 3 - 4 quart sauce pan and bring to a good boil. Simmer for approximately 30 minutes stirring occasionally. (Start with 1/4 teaspoon cayenne and test the sauce for hotness; add more to your taste.)

Steve got this recipe from a good friend of his in Alabama. This is the only barbecue sauce we use.
