2 lbs. lean ground beef
1 lg. onion, diced
1 lg. bell pepper, minced
3 15 oz. cans pinto beans
2 28 oz. cans diced tomatoes
4 8 oz. cans tomato sauce
3 jalapeņo peppers, minced
1/2 c. chili powder
1 t. crushed red pepper flakes
1 t. ground black pepper
1/2 t. salt
1/4 t. garlic powder

Cook and stir beef, onion and bell pepper in large pot over medium heat until beef is brown and onion and pepper are tender, 10 minutes. Drain grease. Stir in beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce, jalapeņos, chili powder, red pepper, pepper, salt and garlic powder. Bring mixture to slow boil; cover and reduce heat. Simmer at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Can simmer several hours; the longer simmerred, the more flavor.
