1 c butter 1 c sugar 2 eggs 1&1/2 c plain flour 1/2 t salt 1 t vanilla 1 c chopped pecans pecan halves
Beat sugar and shortening to blend. Add eggs well beaten. Sift together and add flour and salt. Beat until smooth and light. Add vanilla and chopped nuts. Drop on greased cookie sheet well apart. Put a pecan half in the center of each cookie and bake at 325º to 350º for 10 minutes.
