3/4 cup sugar
3 tbsp. corn starch
dash of salt
5 tbsp. cocoa
3 cups milk
3 egg yolks
2 tbsp. butter or margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
1 - 9 inch baked pie shell

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, corn starch, salt, and cocoa together. Add milk and cook over medium heat. Stirring constantly until it comes to a boil. Add some hot liquid to slightly beaten egg yolks and stir back into the remaining pudding. Cook until it thickens. Remove from heat and add butter, or margarine, and vanilla. Cool for a few minutes and pour into baked pie shell. Cover with meringue and bake until meringue is lightly brown. Or, if you prefer, cover with wax paper, cool completely, and top with cool whip or whipped cream.
