"Plain fresh bread, its crust shatteringly crisp. Sweet cold butter. There is magic in the way they come together in your mouth to make a single perfect bite."--Ruth Reichl

Ingredients:
1 c. crisco
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. ICE water

Directions:
Directions:
With pastry blender cut in flour, salt and crisco until mixed; sort of looks like peas

I sprinkle the ice water over the dough, then toss with a fork until there are no dry spots. Take half of your dough and make a ball then do the same with the other half. That makes your top and bottom crust. Lightly flour your pastry cloth and roll into a circle. Gently roll your dough on the rolling pin and lift carefully into your pie plate. The dough will hang over the plate - that is good. Add your filling. Then roll out your top crust the same way. Put it gently over the filling. With the over hanging crust- fold the top crust with the bottom crust all around the pie. Then with your two index fingers pinch the crust together all around the pie. Hopefully you have all made pie crust before while watching your mom or else get out the Betty Crocker or Better Homes for a demonstration. :)
