Ingredients:
1 box white cake mix
1 can (1 lb. 5 oz.) prepared cherry pie filling
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup chopped pecans
1 stick butter, melted

Directions:
Directions:
Put cherries in a 10" Dutch oven (not a deep oven); spread evenly. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon lemon juice over the top of cherries. Into a large mixing bowl, put cake mix and nuts. Gradually drip in the melted butter while mixing. This mixture will be lumpy. Use your hands and break into marble-size bits; drop over cherries evenly. Do not mix with cherries–merely lay evenly over the top. Bake (approximately 375º) with 14 briquettes on top and 7 on bottom for about 45 minutes.

Variation: Use can of apple pie mix with spice cake mix and walnuts in place of pecans.
