1 cup sugar
1 rounded tsp. baking powder
1 c. sour milk
1 level tsp. soda
3 c. flour (approx.) to make soft dough
1 egg
2 scant Tbs.melted shortening
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together dry ingredientts. Put soda in sour milk. Mix
remaining ingredients then add dry ingredients to sour milk. Roll
out dough and cut with doughnut cutter. Roll out on a floured
board. Drop doughnuts in hot oil and fry until brown. Roll in sugar
if desired.
