"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
1/4 cup butter or margarine 1 1/4 cup flour 2 tsp. sugar 2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 2/3 cup milk
Heat oven to 450º. Melt butter in 9x13 baking pan in the oven. Remove as soon as butter is melted. In a bowl, stir dry ingredients together. Add milk and stir 30 strokes. Turn onto floured board and knead lightly about 10 times. Roll out 1/2 inch thick into 8 inch square. With floured knife, cut into strips approx. 4 inches wide, then cut crosswise to make 18 sticks. Dip sticks into butter; place in 2 rows in the pan. Bake 15-20 minutes. Serve hot.
