1-1/2 c. sugar
1 c. oleo (or 1/2 c. oleo and 1/2 c. shortening)
2 eggs
1 t. baking soda
3 1/2 c. flour
2 t. cinnamon
1 t. vanilla
1/2 t. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cook 2 cups of raisins in 2 cups of water for 20 minutes resulting in 1 cup juice. Drain and
reserve 1 cup of juice. Let cool. Cream together sugar, oleo and eggs. Mix in 1 cup raisin
juice with baking soda added (it will foam a little), flour, cinnamon, vanilla and salt. Fold in the cooked raisins. Spread in a 11x13 greased and floured cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 15-20 minutes. Cool and spread with thin frosting made of a mixture of powdered sugar and water beaten until smooth. Sprinkle with nuts (optional).
