1 lb. butter
1 lb. brown sugar
6 eggs - separated
4 cups all- purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 cup sweet milk
1 1/2 oz. lemon extract
4 cups copped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar together. Add egg yolks and beat well. Add dry ingredients and alternate with milk. Beat well. Add extract and beat egg whites until stiff. Fold into cake batter and fold in pecans. Bake at 300 for 1 hour and 40 minutes in a greased and floured tube pan. Cool slightly then remove from pan.
