1-1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 cup canned pumpkin
1-2/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup water
1/2 cup pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening together in mixing bowl. Add eggs and pumpkin to shortening and beat well. Sift dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients and water to first mixture. Stir in pecans. Pour batter into loaf pan and bake for 1-1/2 hours at 350.
