1/2 t. salt
Dash pepper
2 T. sugar
2 T. rice vinegar
1/4 c. salad oil
1/4 c. sliced almonds
1 T. plus 1 t. sugar
1 head iceberg
1 head romaine
1 bunch greed onions
1 (15 oz.) can mandarin oranges, drained

Shake together dressing ingredients and refrigerate. Cook nuts and sugar together over low heat, stirring constantly, until lightly toasted. Wash and tear lettuce into bite-size pieces. Slice green onions and add to lettuce. Top with oranges and almonds. Pour dressing over salad right before serving and toss again.
