4 Tbsp butter
2 slices onion
2 Tbsp chopped green pepper
1/4 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/4 c evaporated milk
3/4 c water
1 1/2 c cooked diced chicken (veal or ham may be substituted. If ham is used omit salt. )
triangles of toast or patty shells
few grains of paprika.

Directions:
Melt butter in top of double boiler. Cook chopped onion and green pepper 10 minutes in butter. but do not brown., Stir in flour and salt. Gradually add Evaporated milk and water, stirring until mixture thickens. Cook 10 minutes longer. Stirring occasionally. Add diced meat. Cook until thoroughly heated. Serve on triangles of toast or patty shells.
