12 oz. box vanilla wafers or graham crackers
2 cubes butter or margarine
2 squares chocolate or 7 T. cocoa powder
2 C. powdered sugar
3 eggs, separated
1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream

Directions:
Directions:
Crush or roll vanilla wafers into fine crumbs. Makes about 3 cups. Melt 1 cube butter and mix with 2 cups crumbs. Press into the bottom of a 9 x 13 inch baking dish to form crust. In medium saucepan, melt butter and chocolate or cocoa powder. Add powdered sugar and beaten egg yolks; heat through. Remove from heat. Cool slightly and add egg whites which have beaten until stiff peaks form. Pour this chocolate sauce over crumb mixture. Slice 1/2 gallon ice cream and place on above. Sprinkle reserved 1 cup crumbs on top. Freeze.
