2 c cake flour
2 c sugar
pinch salt
1 stick butter
1/2 c shortening
4 T cocoa
1 c water
1/2 c buttermilk
2 eggs
1 t baking soda
1 t vanilla
For Icing
1 stick butter
4 T cocoa
6 milk
1 box confectioners sugar
1 t vanilla
1c nuts

Directions:
Directions:
In a mixing bowl combine 2 c flour, 2 c sugar and pinch of salt. In a sauce pan combine 1 stick butter, 1/2 c shortening, 4 T cocoa, 1 c water then bring to a boil. Pour into flour mixture and beat. Add 1/2 c buttermilk, 2 eggs, t soda, t vanilla. Pour into greased, floured pan and bake 350 for 40 min or til done. Cool.
For icing: combine stick butter 4 T cocoa, 6 T milk and boil. To this add box confectioners sugar, 1 t vanilla and 1 c nuts. Spread on cake while icing is hot.
