Several cups of thinly sliced apples (enough to cover bottom of a 9 x 13 inch pan), 1/2 cup plus 2 T. of flour, 1/2 c. oatmeal, 1/2 c. brown sugar, 1/2 t. baking soda, 1/2 t. baking powder, 1/4 c. melted butter (or more), 1 c. sugar, pinch of cinnamon, pinch of salt, 1/2 c. water.

Cover the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking pan with thinly sliced apples. Mix the following together and set aside: 1/2 c. flour, 1/2 c. oatmeal, 1/2 c. brown sugar, 1/2 t. baking soda, 1/2 t. baking powder, 1/4 c. melted butter. (Extra amounts can be added to all of these ingredients, depending on your preference). After mixing together, spread over the apples. Pour 1/2 c. of water over the apples and mixture.

Topping: Mix 1 c. sugar, 2 T. flour, pinch of cinnamon, pinch of salt. Spread this over the apples, water and mixture.

Amounts can easily be varied to taste!!

Bake at 375 for 40-45 minutes or until apples are tender (this will vary with the type of apple).
