French Onion Soup Recipe

Ingredients:  
1 onion finely chopped
1/2 cube margarine
3 tbs flour
salt and pepper to taste
2 cubes bouillon
2 C hot water
Several slices stale French bread
1 C Swiss Cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter and cook onion until tender and light brown. Sprinkle flour into onions and stir. Dissolve bouillon in hot water and slowly add to onion mixture stirring until thickened. Break up bread into several serving bowls and sprinkle with half the cheese. Pour hot soup over bread and cheese and top with remaining cheese.

Really good when soup bowl with topped cheese is broiled until cheese is lightly browned.
