1 lb. ground beef, 1 medium, chopped, 3 14 1/2-oz. cans beef consomme, 28-oz. can diced or crushed tomatoes, 3 carrots, sliced, 3 celery ribs, sliced, 8 T. barley, 1 bay leaf, 1 T. dried parsley, 1 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. pepper.

1. Brown beef and onion in skillet. Drain. 2. Combine all ingredients in slow cooker. 3. Cover. Cook on High 3 hours, or low for 6-8 hours.
