1 pkg 6 oz long grain and wild rice mixture
1/2 c butter
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1/2 lb fresh mushrooms, sliced
1/2 c thinly sliced celery
1/2 c flour
6 c chicken broth
1/2 tsp curry powder
1/4 tsp white pepper
2 c half and half
2/3 c dry sherry

Directions:
Directions:
Prepare rice according to package directions. In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat; add onion, saute about 5 minutes until golden. Add mushrooms and celery. Cook while stirring about 3 minutes. Mix in flour. Gradually add broth; stir constantly til thick(about 5-8 minutes). Stir in seasonings and rice. Reduce heat to low.
Stir in 1/2 and 1/2 and sherry. Stir occasionally but do not boil. Best made in advance for flavors to blend.
Gently reheat.
