6 or 7 tart apples*
3/4 to 1 cup sugar
2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
1/2 to 1 tsp. cinnamon
Dash of nutmeg
Dash of salt
Pastry for 2 crust 9" pie
2 Tbsp. butter

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400. Pare apples and slice thin. Combine sugar, flour, spices, and salt. Mix well, then mix with apples. Line 9" pie plate with pastry, fill with apple mixture, and dot with butter. Add top crust and edge. Sprinkle with sugar for sparkle. Bake 50 minutes or until done.

* You can save time by using two No. 2 cans (5 cups) sliced pie apples which have been drained.
