1 c. milk 1/4 t. salt 2 T. butter 3/4 c. sugar 4 T. flour 1/2 c. milk 2 eggs (separated) 1/2 t. vanilla
Scald milk, salt and butter. Sift dry ingredients. Add 1/2 c. cold milk and mix. Add egg yolks. Pour scalded milk over second mixture, put back in pan and cook until thick. Add vanilla. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks. Fold in hot mixture.
