1 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
2/3 cup milk
1 tsp cinnamon
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp baking powder
3 cups flour
3 cups oats
1 tsp soda
3 cups raisins

Cream butter, add sugars. Beat well. Add beaten eggs and milk. Sift flour with salt, cinnamon, soda and baking powder. Add to butter mixture. Gradually add oatmeal, then raisins. Drop by spoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Cook at 350 for 8 - 10 minutes. Take out of the oven while still bubbly so cookie will be chewy rather than hard and crisp.

You also may use buttermilk rather than regular milk.
