"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 1/3 cup coconut
1 cup chopped pecans
1 pkg German Chocolate cake mix
8oz softened cream cheese
1/2 cup softened butter or margarine
1 egg
4 cups confectionery sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Sprinkle coconut and pecans into a well greased & floured 13x9 pan. Prepare cake according to directions; pour into pan. In mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add egg and sugar; beat again until smooth. Drop cream cheese mixture, by large spoonfuls, over cake mixture. Carefully spread to within 1" of pan edge.

Bake at 350 for 55-60 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes and serve warm if possible.

Note: For a nicer presentation, this cake can be turned upside down onto a platter to show off the coconut and pecans. (I rarely take the chance at it not flopping out of the pan right.)

Personal Notes:
Tom and I both enjoy German Chocolate cake. This is an awesome substitute for the real thing when I don't have time to make one from scratch (or when I'm not in NY to have my mom make one!)
