1 cup butter
1 1/2 cup chopped onion
1/1/2 lb sliced mushrooms
3 1/2 lbs beef top round, cut in 1/4 by 1/4 by 2 inch strips
6 tbs flour
3 cups bouillon
1/1/2 tsp salt
6 tbs tomato paste
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
3/4 cup sour cream
1/1/2 cup heavy cream
8 cups cooked fluffy rice

Directions:
Melt 1/3 cup butter in large saucepan, add onion and saute until golden. Set aside. In Dutch over or other large heavy pot, melt 1/3 cup butter, add mushrooms, saute until lightly browned; set aside. Melt remaining butter; roll beef in four, saute in butter until browned. Add salt, bouillon, onions; cover and simmer gently until meat is tender (about 1 1/2 hours) Add remaining ingredients, including mushrooms, and heat thoroughly.
Prepare rice during last part of cooking stroganoff. Serve in separate dishes.

This is one of Granna's recipes. She used to make it for the "Gang", the Burnett's, Johnson's, Coffey's, and Barnards, when they would have their annual Christmas party. It was my favorite too, and she would make it for me on my birthday, with asparagus casserole.
