Bacon Stuffed Mushrooms Recipe

1 pound mushrooms
4 slices of bacon, chopped
1 medium onion, minced
2 T. minced green pepper
1 tsp. salt
dash of pepper
1 - 3 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/2 - 1 c. fresh bread crumbs combined with melted butter (2T.)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375.
Wash and dry mushrooms. Remove stems, chop and reserve for stuffing.
Saute diced bacon, onion, green pepper, mushroom stems and seasoning. Remove from heat when cooked but not brown. Combine softened cream cheese with bacon mixture; press into mushroom caps, mounding slightly. Press buttered bread crumbs on top.
Place stuffed mushrooms in a buttered 9" x 13" baking dish, filling side up. At this point, mushrooms can be covered and refrigerated one or two days. Add 1/4 c. hot water to baking dish and bake uncovered 15 - 20 minutes.
