2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 t. baking soda
3/4 t. baking powder
1/4 t. salt
2 c. buttermilk, room temp
4 eggs
3 T. butter, melted and cooled
4 ounces (4squares) semisweet chocolate, melted and cooled.

Preheat Belgium Waffle Iron. Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Pour buttermilk into medium bowl. Separate eggs, blending yolks into buttermilk. Place whites in a medium bowl. Set aside. Add butter and chocolate to buttermilk mixture; mix well. Add flour mixture to buttermilk mix,stirring until blended (will be thick). Beat egg whites with electric mixer on high speed until stiff peaks form. Fold egg whites into batter with rubber spatula.

Pour three-quarters cup batter onto center of hot iron for each waffle. Bake 4-5 minutes or until evenly browned. Serve with maple syrup or whipped cream and raspberries.
