3/4 C. soft shortening
1 C. brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 C.p molasses
2 1/4 C. sifted flour
2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger.

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together thoroughly, the shortening sugar egg and molasses, Add sifted flour with other dry ingredients. Chill dough 1 hour. Roll into balls size of walnuts and dip tops in sugar. Place sugar side up 3 inches apart. Bake in 375 oven for 10 minutes, till set but not too hard. Makes 4 dozen.
