1 cup sugar
1 cup shortening
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. baking powder
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 tea lemon flavoring
1 tsp. baking soda
3 1/2 cups flour

Frosting
1/3 cup butter or margarine
4 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup milk (may need to add a little more)
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix all ingredients together and bake at 375º for 8--10 minutes
