1 cup flour (whole-wheat or part whole-wheat) 1/4 tsp salt 2 tbsp shortening 1/4 cup water
Add shortening to flour and mix with pastry blender, add rest of ingredients. Let rise 20 minutes. Roll very thin, and cut in circle size desired. A small plate works well as a template for size. Brown lightly in a frying pan.
In junior high school we made these in Home Ec class and still is a favorite.
