1c shortening, 1 c. sugar, 2 eggs, 1 1/3 cups flour, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 1/2 tsp allspice, 2/3 c buttermilk, 23 c shopped cooked prunes.

Cream shortening and sugar thoroughly. Beat in eggs one at a time. Sift together dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Stir in chopped prunes. Turn batter in 2 greased and floured round pans. BAKE.
