5 ripe bananas
4 eggs well beaten
1 cup shortening
2 cups white sugar
4 cups sifted flour
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp.. salt
1 cup walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Beat bananas until liquid. Add eggs and set aside. In larger bowl, cream shortening and sugar and add banana mixture and blend. Add sifted dry ingredients and stir until well mixed & smooth. Fold in nuts. Pour into 2 - 9 1/2 X 5 X3 greased loaf pans. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until done at 350 degrees.

Mom always used the toothpick in middle of all cakes to see if toothpick comes out dry. Do not overbake.
