1 c. shorting
3/4 c brown sugar
3/4 c. white sugar
2 eggs 1 tsp salt 11/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp hot water
2 c. water
2 c. oatmeal
1 tsp vanilla
1 pkg choc. chips

Cream shorting, add sugar and beat well. Add eggs and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together and add. Stir soda dissolved in hot water.Add choc. chips
Bake 350 degrees for 12 min.
