1 c. powdered sugar
1 c. butter or shortening
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 c. nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients together in order given. Chill overnight. Slice in thin slices and bake 10 minutes in 375 oven. After baking, sprinkle with powdered sugar with a flour sifter.

Variation: instead of slicing, roll into balls and decorate with fruits and nuts, then sprinkle with powdered sugar.
