1/2 c. butter
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
3 c. rolled oats
12 oz. chocolate chips
1 c. nuts

Cream butter, add sugar, egg, water, and shortening. Sift flour, baking soda, and salt. Add to mixture and blend thoroughly. Add nuts and chocolate chips. Drop mixture from spoon. Bake at 375 for 12 minutes.
