1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. orange juice
rind of two oranges
4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 c. sour milk (add 1 T. vinegar or lemon juice, sit 5 minutes)

juice of one orange
1 T. butter
one-half box of confectioners sugar

Preheat oven to 350.

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and mix. Sift
together flour, baking powder, soda and add alternately with
liquids. Drop by spoonful on greased cookie sheet. Bake for
10-12 minutes until browned slightly.

Mix icing ingredients. Add more sugar until the right
consistency is achieved, then ice cookies.
