2 1/2 lbs. lean boneless beef, cut in 1" cubes
12 oz. jar small white onions (or chopped onion)
4 carrots, quartered crosswise
6 oz. fresh mushrooms, chopped
3 ribs celery - cut in 1" pieces
1 1/2 c. tomato juice (or V-8)
1/2 c. dry red wine
1/4 c. quick cooking tapioca
2 tsp. salt
2 bay leaves
1 tsp. basil
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 c. peas, frozen

Directions:
Put all ingredients but peas in crock pot and cook all day. Add frozen peas 20 minutes before serving. Serve with hearty baked bread.
