1/3 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/3 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp. each baking powder, ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. each baking soda, salt and ground nutmeg
1/8 tsp. ground cloves
3/4 cup applesauce
Cream Cheese Frosting

Directions:
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Combine dry ingredients; add to cream mixture alternately with applesauce. Fill greased or paper lined muffin cups 2/3's full. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack. Frost cool cupcakes.
