2 Gallons of cucumbers (small ) or 8 lbs.
1 Gallon cold water
1 cup salt
3 Tbsp. alum
Hot water
8 cups of vinegar
10 cups sugar
1 box stick cinnamon
3 Tlbs celery seeds
1/4 box whole cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Make a brine with salt and water and pour over cucumbers and let stand for 7 days. Drain and let stand 24 hours in alum and enough hot water to cover. Drain and wipe dry with a cloth and split if cucumbers are large.Cook vinegar, cinnamon, celery seed and cloves. After heating, pour over cucumbers and for 4 mornings repeat the heating process. On the 4th day put in jars and seal.

I found this recipe was a box written on a piece of notebook paper and the quote at the bottom says "Written by Patricia Lynn Gabbert". Wouldn't you know it must have been a new notebook--
