1/4 lb shortening
3 1/2 Tbs cocoa
1 1/2 C granulated sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 C. flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp nuts (pecans or walnuts)

Melt the shortening and cocoa. Stir well. Add the sugar and stir.
Beat in the 3 eggs separately. Add the flour, salt, vanilla, and
nuts. Spread in a greased pan. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
Frost immediately (if desired) and serve.
