1 lb ground Italian sausage
1 1/2 tsp crushed red peppers
1 large diced white onion
4 Tbs uncooked bacon pieces
2 tsp minced garlic
10 C. water
2 large cans chicken stock
1 C. heavy cream
4 large Russet potatoes, sliced
1/4 bunch of Kale

Saute the sausage and the peppers in the bottom of a large pot.
Remove and set aside. In the same pot saute the bacon, onions,
and garlic for 15 minutes or until the onions are soft. Mix stock
and water in pot. Cook until boiling then add the potatoes.
Simmer until the potatoes are soft (1/2 hour). Add cream and
sausage and cook until heated through. Add kale right before

Grandpa Hanner's favorite.
