1/2 c butter Melted 1/4 c butter
1/2 c Powde4red sugar 3/4 c sifted powdered
sugar
1 c flour 1 c (6oz)semi-sweet
choc. pieces
1 pkg (14oz)caramels 3 Tbs. butter
1/4 c evaporated milk or light cream.

Combine butter and powdered sugar; cut in flour until crumbly. Grease a 13by9by2" baking pan. Press crumb mixture evenly into bottom of pan; bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Combine caramels, evaporated milk and 1/4 cup butter in a medium saucepan. Melt over low heat and stir in powdered sugar. Pour over low heat and stir in powdered sugar. Pour over crust and spread evenly; cool 15 minutes. Combine chocolate pieces and butter; Melt slowly over low heat. Stir until smooth and spread onto caramel layer. Chill several hours before cutting into squares.
