1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon hot water
2-1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 package chocolate chips

Cream butter, sugar and eggs. Dissolve soda in hot water and mix alternately with flour and salt. Lastly add nuts, chocolate chips and vanilla. Drop cookies and bake 10-12 minutes at 350.
