1 can (1lb.) fruit cocktail
1 small pkg. (9oz.) spice cake mix
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg unbeaten
1 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup brown sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Drain fruit cocktail, reserving 3/4 cup syrup. Combine cake mix, 1/2 cup brown sugar, reserved fruit cocktail syrup, and egg. Beat at medium speed with mixer for 3 minutes. Stir in drained fruit and walnuts. Pour into buttered 11 1/2 x 7 1/2 x 1 1/2" baking diah; sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup brown sugar. Bake in 325 degree oven for 1 hour or until cake springs back when pressed lightly with finger. Serve warm with thin custard sauce, light cream, or ice cream.
