4 squares of unsweetened baking chocolate
2 sticks of butter
2 cups sugar
4 large eggs, beaten
2 t. coffee liqueur, or vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 c. semisweet chocolate chips
1 c. broken walnut pieces (or pecans)

Serves 12 (makes 48 brownies)
Preparation time: 30 minutes

Preheat oven to 325. Line 2- 8x8 square pans with foil and grease the foil. (you can also use a 9x13 pan)
In a heavy 1-quart saucepan, melt the unsweetened chocolate and butter over low heat stirring constantly. Remove from heat and let cool 5 minutes. Stir in the sugar. Beat in the eggs one at a time, add the coffee liqueur, and stir in the flour. Mix well. Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts.
Scrape the batter into the prepared pan (or pans).
Bake 20 minutes if using the 8x8 pans or 35 minutes if using a 9x13 inch pan. The edges are firm and the center will be soft. Cool for 30 minutes on a wire rack before cutting. Chill at least 2 hours before serving.
