sift together
2 1/4 c flour
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt

CREAM
1/2 c butter
1 1/4 c firmly packed brown sugar
ADD
2 unbeaten eggs
1/2 c sour cream
1 tsp vanilla
BLEND
1 c dates (chopped)
1 c nuts chopped
drop by rounded tsp onto a lightly greased cookie sheet.Bake @ 375

Brown 1/4 x butter in saucepan. Remove from heat and stir in 1 1/2 c sifted powdered sugar. Add 3 or 4 tsp to hot water, beating until smooth and of spreading consistency.

I am not sure but the smooth mixture must be a type of icing she put on the cookies. I am having a hard time reading some of the recipe's.
