Beef Brisket – Grandma Ellie

4 – 5 lb brisket
2 liter Bottle of ginger ale
½ chopped onion
½ packet of onion soup mix
2 – 3 tb of brown sugar (light will work)
Cup of shredded carrots
Paprika
salt

Directions:
Directions:

Sear meat in a fry pan with small amount of paprika and salt on both sides
Add 1/2 cup ginger ale, onion, carrots, onion soup mix, and brown sugar and cover fry pan.
Cook over low heat for 2 hours and check meat is soft with a fork. Do not overcook or the meat
Will get too stringy.

Add ginger ale, about ½ cup and turn meat regularly during cooking process
